PUMA introduces a new version of the Suede through its continued partnership with British tannery Charles F. Stead. The collaboration focuses on material quality and original design elements, presenting the Suede with leather produced by one of England’s most established suede makers. This release reinforces the Suede’s status within the PUMA footwear lineup while placing emphasis on craftsmanship and material sourcing.
SNEAKERS
Charles F. Stead has produced suede leather since 1825, earning recognition for its soft texture and natural surface. The tannery applies specialized tanning methods that shape the character and durability of its materials. Through this collaboration, PUMA incorporates Stead suede directly into the construction of the Suede upper, ensuring each pair reflects the tannery’s material expertise.

The updated Suede retains core design features associated with the original silhouette while introducing refined material execution. PUMA releases the collaboration in three colorways: Honey Butter, PUMA Black, and Orange Glo. The Honey Butter edition emphasizes warm tones that complement the suede’s natural texture. The PUMA Black version presents a monochromatic approach grounded in the model’s original design identity. Orange Glo references a Knicks-inspired color created for Walt “Clyde” Frazier Jr., whose personal association with the Suede shaped the model’s cultural recognition.
Each pair includes a Charles F. Stead hang tag produced from the same suede used on the upper. This detail acknowledges the material source and reinforces the connection between the footwear brand and the tannery. The hang tag serves as a physical marker of the collaboration and connects the finished product to its material origin.

The Suede has remained a consistent part of PUMA’s footwear offering for decades, recognized for its signature upper and recognizable color treatments. PUMA continues to revisit the model through partnerships and special releases that emphasize its original construction and design. This collaboration places attention on the suede itself, presenting the silhouette through material quality and direct reference to its defining feature.
PUMA marked the cultural significance of the Suede earlier in the year with Suede House, an immersive installation presented during Paris Fashion Week. The event explored the silhouette’s influence and ongoing relevance while introducing new interpretations to contemporary audiences. This activation reinforced the Suede’s continued presence within footwear and fashion conversations.
The PUMA x Charles F. Stead Suede becomes available on February 28, 2026, through PUMA.com, PUMA flagship stores, and selected stockists.
