Maximilian Davis is no longer finding his footing at Ferragamo. He has arrived. The Pre-Spring 2027 collection carries a confidence that signals something settled: a creative vision fully absorbed into the house’s codes, and a house that has absorbed him in return. The result is Ferragamo at its most coherent in years.
The starting point is familiar territory for Davis, the 1920s, but the approach shifts. Where previous seasons drew on the gilded glamour of Ferragamo‘s Hollywood clientele, this time the focus pulls toward the everyday, the casual, and the artistic circles that surrounded those starlets. The artists, the collagists, the Surrealists and Cubists who shaped the visual culture of the decade now inform forms and fabrications in equal measure. “What I appreciated was how linear everything felt in the work I was looking at; the combination of textures and colours,” says Davis. “I wanted to see how we could be more referential in terms of our inspiration.“

That referential quality runs through every piece. Menswear silhouettes cross into womenswear with an insouciant ease, 1920s sportswear offers contrast borders on tailoring and leather trim on nylon windbreakers, and draped silks, fluid in form, are cut through by graphic intersections. Prints evoking the house’s scarf heritage are disrupted by knife pleat plissé, while gold lamé applied to dropped-waist chiffon and washed georgette inset with transparent crêpe speak to the patchwork sensibility Davis has made central to the collection. “This season, I was also looking at the more casual part of the period,” he explains. “I’ve always referenced the more glamorous parts, and Salvatore‘s Hollywood clients, so this time I wanted to look at daywear, too.” The shift from the assured tailoring and draped eveningwear of the Ferragamo Fall Winter 2026 collection is subtle but telling, a broadening of register rather than a departure.

In accessories, the patchwork logic continues. The iconic Hug silhouette returns in leather and suede stripes, a new cleanly-formed bucket bag introduces elegant functionality to the range, and the Cara style is reworked in a supple new silhouette with expanded dimensions. The Soft bag appears in glossy olive and tobacco eelskin. For men, a deconstructed reversible leather tote with a Gancini clip is lined with contrasting suede, a one-piece shoulder bag is built from dark Barolo leather, and the Hug arrives in croc-printed brown suede.
