Nike Basketball introduces the Ja 4 Nightmare, the launch colorway for Ja Morant‘s fourth signature sneaker. The new model arrives in Obsidian, Black, Voltage Green and Multi Color, using its dark palette and vivid accents to reference the pressure Morant places on defenders when attacking the basket. Nike will release the sneaker on August 13 for $130 under style code IM4135-405.

The Ja 4 introduces a new Cushlon 3.0 cushioning setup, replacing the hybrid ZoomX construction used on the Ja 3. Nike pairs the foam with a supercritical SPRPWR sockliner to support takeoffs and soften impact on landings.

A new TPU JA Frame forms part of the containment system, working with the upper to secure the foot during cuts and changes in direction. Nike also redesigned the traction pattern for quick lateral transitions on court. Haptic elements add durability to the upper in areas exposed to repeated contact.
The upper keeps a streamlined profile with limited structure, balancing support with a lightweight feel. The combination of cushioning, containment and traction gives the Ja 4 a technical setup built around the speed and directional changes associated with Morant’s game.

The Nightmare colorway establishes the first visual identity for the model. Obsidian covers most of the shoe, while Voltage Green details introduce contrast against the darker base. Nike uses the theme to reference the moment Morant elevates toward the basket and the pressure that creates for defenders.
Nike plans five Ja 4 colorways as part of the model’s initial release program. The company will also introduce 12 Time, a separate silhouette that carries several features associated with Morant’s signature footwear at a lower price, in early September.
The Nike Ja 4 Nightmare releases globally on August 13 through Nike and selected retailers for $130.
