Jordan Brand introduces the Tatum 5, the latest model in Jayson Tatum’s signature basketball line. The design takes inspiration from the way Tatum dictates the pace of a game and maintains composure under pressure, shaping a lightweight shoe developed around support, responsiveness and containment.

The release arrives as Tatum enters the next chapter of his career. Jordan Brand developed the Tatum 5 for players who want to remain composed during demanding possessions and maintain confidence through cuts, stops and changes of direction.

“There’s always going to be noise around you, especially when people expect a lot from you,” says Tatum. “For me, success comes from blocking all of that out, trusting my work, and staying in control of what I can control.”
A dynamic utility strap forms a key part of the construction. The strap secures the foot while keeping additional weight to a minimum. Jordan Brand pairs it with a molded midfoot wrap and heel structure that supports stability during quick changes in direction.

A 10-millimeter forefoot Air Zoom unit provides responsive energy return during quick bursts and transitions. Underfoot, a herringbone traction pattern uses HART 2.0 rubber to support sharp stops and detailed footwork on court.
“Jayson has evolved into one of the game’s most complete players because he never speeds up for anyone,” says Tony Hardman, Design Director, Jordan Basketball Footwear. “He plays with poise, precision and control. That became our guiding principle for the Tatum 5.”

Jordan Brand also developed the upper around ventilation and reduced weight. A perforated zone runs along the sidewall, while ballistic mesh vents appear along the lateral, medial and forefoot sections. Lightweight materials continue throughout the upper to help keep the foot cool during play.
The shoe features a soft molded upper that develops the fluid forms already associated with Tatum’s signature line. Its construction allows Jordan Brand to explore different materials and surface treatments across future versions.

Personal details connect the design directly to Tatum. His number 0 appears on the heel through a new graphic treatment inspired by the Gateway Arch in his hometown of St. Louis.
Jordan Brand will introduce the model through the Sunrise colorway, which takes its reference from a Boston sunrise. The Jordan Brand Tatum 5 launches in full-family sizing in China on September 24. A global release will follow.
