Reebok introduces the SpeedShifter, a new performance running shoe that combines a full-length carbon plate with the brand’s new HYPERFLOAT foam. The company developed the model for speed, long-distance running and race day, using lightweight construction and high energy return to support athletes through training and competition.

The SpeedShifter marks the first use of a full-length carbon plate within Reebok’s performance running category. Reebok places its AccelerPlate between two midsole layers to create a responsive underfoot feel and increase propulsion. The shoe pairs that plate with HYPERFLOAT, an all-new ATPU foam compound that delivers high energy return and plush cushioning.

Reebok uses a dual-density midsole configuration to provide cushioning, bounce and stability. The combination targets runners who need responsive performance during faster sessions while retaining enough cushioning for longer distances.
The upper follows a lightweight, breathable construction with a minimalist approach to support. Reebok adds a cushioned collar for comfort and lockdown, helping secure the foot during training sessions and races. Underfoot, a three-piece rubber outsole uses a high-abrasion compound for durability and grip.
The SpeedShifter has an 8mm drop and weighs 7.4 ounces. These specifications accompany a technical package that focuses on propulsion, cushioning, support and traction while keeping overall weight low.

Reebok athlete and ultra runner Lydia Oldham has tested the shoe for both training and race-day use. “The SpeedShifter lets me lock in and go the distance,” Oldham said. “With a lightweight upper and ultimate bounce, I can conquer an intense training session and hit speed on race day.”
Chris Stone, Product Director at Reebok, described the SpeedShifter as the company’s next running shoe innovation. He explained that Reebok developed the model to help athletes feel fast and used the full-length carbon plate together with lightweight HYPERFLOAT foam to create its propulsive character.

The SpeedShifter arrives as Reebok develops its performance running offering with technologies created specifically for runners seeking speed and high energy return. Its technical setup brings together the AccelerPlate carbon component, dual-density HYPERFLOAT midsole, breathable upper, cushioned collar and durable rubber outsole in one race-oriented design.
Reebok will release the SpeedShifter on October 20 through Reebok.com. The shoe will retail for $220 and will come in unisex and women’s sizing in two colorways. Reebok notes that product availability and launch timing may vary by market.
