Casablanca Spring Summer 2027 Takes Inspiration From Brazil

Charaf Tajer draws from Brazilian culture, Oscar Niemeyer and beach life for Spring Summer 2027.

Casablanca turns to Brazil for Spring Summer 2027 with Amor e Progresso, a collection by founder and Creative Director Charaf Tajer shaped by the country’s culture, architecture, football, beaches and tropical environments. Tajer approaches Brazil through personal experience, focusing on the places, rhythms and communities that have influenced him over time.

SPRING SUMMER 2027

The title adapts Brazil’s national motto, Ordem e Progresso, replacing “order” with “love.” Tajer uses the phrase to express his belief in personal progress through work, culture, passion and human connection. He also connects that idea to his own life, reflecting on how origins never need to determine a person’s future.

Casablanca presented the collection at Espace Niemeyer, the headquarters of the Parti communiste français at 2 Place du Colonel Fabien in Paris. Oscar Niemeyer designed the building, his only project in France. Tajer grew up nearby in Belleville and passed the building regularly during his childhood. For the show, Casablanca filled its modernist interior with vegetation inspired by Brazil, connecting the architecture to Tajer’s memories of the area.

Niemeyer also shapes the visual language of the collection. His curved architecture informs a new Casablanca logo, while arcs, graphic planes and sculptural forms appear throughout the clothes. White tailoring sits beside saturated color, and softened construction introduces movement into precise silhouettes.

Brazilian beach culture provides another major reference. Tajer treats the beach as a social space where different communities share the same environment. That idea informs a wardrobe that places swimwear beside tailoring, silk beside football shirts and embroidery beside sportswear.

Womenswear develops through asymmetric hems, fluid fabrics and close-fitting silhouettes. Menswear shifts between formal tailoring, beach dressing and athletic pieces. Animal patterns and snake details appear across both formalwear and sportswear, while physicality remains central to the collection.

Movement drives many of the materials. Beaded fringe, chiffon, silk shirts, sequins, tie-dye and crochet respond directly to the body. Tropical colors appear across prints and knits, while flowers, jungle animals, waves and palms recur through silk, jacquard and knitwear. Sunset gradients and neon tones reference Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo after dark.

The collection also draws from Brazil’s multicultural society, where Indigenous, African and European influences shape music, food, dance and clothing. Casablanca translates that mix through garments that combine several codes within a single wardrobe, allowing formal pieces, sports references and beachwear to coexist.

Accessories continue the Brazilian references. Casablanca updates its Stade and Khopesh sneakers with new colorways and introduces hotel slippers that reference the Copacabana Palace. Perforated leather bags connect feminine shapes with sports design, while the crochet bag features postcard appliqués. The Banana bag returns in a newly ripened form.

Jewelry takes cues from shells and small found objects, while rose-tinted sunglasses add another playful detail. Crochet, textured knitwear and floral embellishment bring plant forms into the collection and echo the vegetation used inside Espace Niemeyer. Tajer builds Casablanca Spring Summer 2027 around Brazil as both personal reference and creative source, connecting architecture, football, beach culture, nightlife and tropical imagery through the house’s approach to dressing.
