Miu Miu and New Balance continue their collaborative partnership into its fifth year with a new interpretation of the RC150, a racing sneaker that first appeared in the late 1990s. The latest version made its first appearance during Miu Miu’s Spring Summer 2027 runway presentation in Paris, introducing the next footwear project from the two brands ahead of its February 2027 arrival.

New Balance originally developed the RC150 as a high-performance road-racing shoe. Its name referenced one of its defining technical qualities: an ultra-lightweight construction that weighed only 150 grams. The model focused on reducing weight for racing, giving it a specific place within New Balance’s performance footwear from the period. Original versions have since become exceptionally rare.
Miu Miu approaches the RC150 through deconstruction, retaining the recognizable proportions of the running shoe while changing its materials and finish. The collaboration takes the athletic model away from its original road-racing context and brings it into Miu Miu’s Spring Summer 2027 collection.
A malleable technical mesh forms the upper of the collaborative RC150. Contrast zigzag embroidery runs across the surface, creating a visible graphic treatment throughout the shoe. The flexible construction keeps the upper extremely light, while New Balance’s UltraLight sole supports the same focus on low weight and movement.
The lacing system gives the design another distinctive detail. Interchangeable laces run through external loops and finish in loose knots near the toe. Wearers can adjust and change the laces, introducing a personal element to the sneaker’s appearance. The loosely tied construction also gives the RC150 a less conventional finish than a standard performance running shoe.
Miu Miu and New Balance drew the collection’s colors directly from the RC150’s late-1990s origins. The range includes softer, muted shades alongside brighter versions. During the Spring Summer 2027 runway show, Miu Miu presented a highly visible combination of blue and bright yellow, placing the racing silhouette within the collection through one of its most vivid color options.
The new RC150 continues a collaboration that has now reached its fifth year. This edition directs attention toward an archival New Balance racing model and its extremely lightweight construction, while Miu Miu changes the way the sneaker appears through technical mesh, zigzag embroidery and its unconventional lace treatment.
That approach keeps the original RC150’s performance history visible through the shoe’s weight, flexible sole and racing proportions. Miu Miu shifts its purpose toward fashion through material choices, color and deconstructed details, giving the late-1990s design a new context for Spring Summer 2027.
