Nike introduces the women’s Plaid Pack, bringing a red tartan pattern to four familiar silhouettes: the Air Force 1 Low, Air Max 90, Air Max Plus, and Shox TL. The collection draws on autumn styling and punk influences, applying a consistent color palette across sneakers with distinct constructions. Black dominates the designs, while red plaid incorporating white, black, and yellow creates a recognizable connection between all four pairs.

SNEAKERS

The collection explores how a single textile can change the appearance of Nike’s established models. Each sneaker incorporates tartan in different areas, allowing the pattern to interact with leather, mesh, suede-like textures, and technical components. The result gives every silhouette its own interpretation of the same seasonal theme.

The Air Force 1 Low “Black/Tough Red/White/Black” takes a controlled approach to the pattern. Smooth black leather covers the toe, eyestays, and Swoosh, maintaining the familiar appearance of the classic low-top design. Nike introduces red plaid textile across the quarter panels and heel tab, creating a concentrated area of color against the predominantly black upper.

A fully black sole unit completes the Air Force 1 Low, keeping attention on the contrast between leather and tartan. The placement of the patterned panels gives the sneaker a distinct visual identity while preserving the recognizable structure of the original silhouette.

The Air Max 90 “Black/Tough Red/Yellow Ochre/Team Red” approaches the theme through a combination of textures. Black mesh forms part of the upper, while fuzzy suede-like overlays introduce a softer surface. Deep Team Red appears on the TPU eyelets and Swooshes, connecting the hardware and branding to the collection’s dominant red tones.

Tartan occupies the collar and rear sections, introducing pattern within the Air Max 90’s layered construction. The arrangement allows the different materials to remain visible, with each surface contributing to the overall design. The combination of black mesh, textured overlays, and red details gives this version a varied finish.

For the Air Max Plus “Tough Red/White/Yellow Ochre/Black,” Nike gives tartan a prominent role across the upper. Red plaid covers much of the shoe beneath its recognizable black TPU cage, creating a graphic pattern within the silhouette’s sculpted framework.

Glossy black mudguards surround the lower upper, while black Air tooling continues the darker color scheme beneath the foot. Small Yellow Ochre accents appear on the outsole, introducing another color from the tartan pattern into the design. The technical construction of the Air Max Plus gives the textile a distinctive presentation.

The Shox TL “Black/Tough Red/Yellow Ochre/Black” completes the pack with a design that draws attention to its Y2K sportswear character. Nike places red plaid textile beneath the model’s black skeletal cage, allowing the pattern to remain visible through the surrounding structure.

Glossy black Shox columns run beneath the shoe, extending the dark finish across its recognizable cushioning system. A dark leather heel completes the upper, adding another material to the combination of patterned textile and technical components.

Across all four sneakers, Nike uses tartan to connect different periods of its sportswear design. The Plaid Pack brings collegiate references and punk-inspired styling into the Air Force 1 Low, Air Max 90, Air Max Plus, and Shox TL, giving each model a distinct arrangement of color, texture, and structure.
