Fashion meets photography in an extraordinary blend as JACQUEMUS introduces its third self-published book, “LE CHOUCHOU.” Following the heels of previous masterpieces, IMAGES (2020) and MARSEILLE JE T’AIME (2017), this new title is set to captivate enthusiasts from both worlds.
The French maison’s latest offering has been created in collaboration with the legendary British documentary photographer, Martin Parr. With Parr’s keen eye for capturing the nuances of modern life, and JACQUEMUS’s visionary design, the combination promises to be nothing short of revolutionary.
Martin Parr, a Commandeur of the Order of the British Empire (CBE), has earned acclaim for his photographic projects that provide an intimate, often satirical, and anthropological perspective on modern life. He has documented various strata of English society, offering insights into the Western world’s wealth and its contrasting diversities. Notably, his renowned works include “The Last Resort,” “The Cost of Living,” “Small World,” and “Common Sense.” A member of the esteemed Magnum Photos since 1994, Parr’s impressive portfolio includes around 40 solo photobooks and approximately 80 exhibitions worldwide.
Fans and followers of both JACQUEMUS and Martin Parr are in for a treat as the duo has scheduled a book signing at the JACQUEMUS MONTAIGNE BOUTIQUE (From 7PM today October 10th). This presents a rare opportunity for enthusiasts to engage with both the designer, Simon Porte Jacquemus, and the photographer, Martin Parr, in a single setting.
In a nod to the profound impact Parr has had on the world of photography, the Martin Parr Foundation, established in 2014, opened its doors in Bristol in 2017. The foundation celebrates Parr’s contribution by housing his extensive archive and promoting British and Irish photography.
“LE CHOUCHOU” is set to be available from the 9th of October on the official JACQUEMUS website.
