After months of speculation, Nike has officially unveiled the Terror Squad x Nike Air Force 1 Low “University Red,” a sneaker that has been circling in sneakerhead conversations since Fat Joe first teased it at the BET Hip-Hop Awards in 2023. The release, part of the Terror Squad revival under Nike’s retro collaboration push, is now slated to drop on August 1 via Nike SNKRS and select retailers.

The shoe features a crisp white leather base with vibrant university red overlays, offering a bold contrast. The familiar “TS” embroidery appears on the lateral heel, while the “JC” stitching on the heel tab nods to Fat Joe’s longtime nickname. The colorway continues down to the sole, where a white midsole sits atop a red outsole, finished with matching red laces for a uniform look.
This “University Red” version joins a growing lineup of Terror Squad x Nike Air Force 1 collaborations that began reappearing in 2023. That year saw the return of the black and white iteration as well as a few exclusive colorways Fat Joe showcased at public events, including a pink, brown, and white pair he wore to an NBA game in November.
While the “University Red” colorway was initially assumed to be another Friends & Family exclusive, sneaker sources confirmed its retail launch earlier this year. Now, with Nike’s full set of official images released and confirmation of an August drop, fans will finally get access to the colorway that sparked renewed interest in the Terror Squad Air Force 1 series.
With the drop approaching, attention will likely turn to the rumored additional Terror Squad colorways that may release alongside the “University Red” pair. As Nike continues to mine the archives and build out storytelling around its hip-hop collaborators, the Terror Squad series stands out as one of the most anticipated legacy revivals of the year.
