adidas revives one of its most iconic football boots with the release of the Predator Precision Elite x Zidane. First teased in January, the rerelease lands in a gold-drenched finish that reflects both Zinedine Zidane’s achievements and the legacy of the original boot. The new version references the design that defined the early 2000s and the player who gave it global relevance.

This edition celebrates Zidane’s recognition as World Player of the Year in 2000. adidas gifted him the original gold pair that year, and now the brand brings that moment back into focus with an updated model that respects its predecessor while adjusting for modern performance needs.

The Predator arrives in a “Gold Met/Black/Collegiate Red” colorway, echoing the same palette Zidane wore when dominating the game at the turn of the millennium. Black Three Stripes cut across the golden leather upper, holding to the exact diagonal layout seen in the original. A vivid red fold-over tongue sits above the laces, completing the look that fans have long associated with control, power, and precision.
Flip that tongue, and you’ll find an etched image of Zidane mid-volley, his unforgettable 2002 Champions League Final goal for Real Madrid immortalized in silhouette. That single strike still defines an entire era of football for many, and adidas now embeds it into the design of a boot that connects past moments with present potential.

While the upper mirrors the classic Precision silhouette, adidas doesn’t trap this boot in nostalgia. Underneath, the Predator 25 soleplate supports a faster tempo and higher technical demands. This version doesn’t just look back, it steps directly into today’s game with the tools to perform.
Inside, the insole includes a reminder of what this release honors: the words “World Player 2000” printed in clean type. The tongue carries the “Made in Germany” mark, reinforcing adidas’ decision to pair iconic styling with elite-level production.

This isn’t adidas’ first time drawing on Zidane’s influence. In 2022, the brand reissued the gold Predator Absolute 2006, another design tied to Zidane’s legendary status. But the Predator Precision x Zidane strips the concept back and focuses on what made that 2000 version so powerful: its shape, its color, and the way it moved on the pitch under Zidane’s command.
That connection remains central. The boot recalls Zidane in his white and gold Real Madrid kit, navigating midfield traffic with balance and command. The adidas Predator Precision Elite x Zidane will be available starting June 10.
