PUMA has introduced the Hali 1, the first signature basketball sneaker for Tyrese Haliburton, designed in collaboration with footwear designer Salehe Bembury. The shoe is set to make its on-court premiere in the vivid Hibiscus colorway during Game 1 of the 2025 NBA Finals, where Haliburton leads the Indiana Pacers against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The official release is scheduled for September, 2025, on PUMA’s website and select global retailers.
The Hali 1 marks a shift in PUMA’s basketball lineup, bringing together advanced NITRO™ foam technology and design codes specific to Haliburton’s playing style. Bembury’s signature touches are visible throughout the sneaker, especially in the sculpted ridges and tonal overlays that define the midsole. The low-top silhouette prioritizes both agility and stability, allowing Haliburton to move with precision and speed on the court.
Built on a breathable mesh upper, the Hali 1 includes a circular perforation pattern throughout the textile. A supportive strap overlays the forefoot, while a TPU cage wraps the heel for added control. The tongue and collar are padded with EVA foam to ensure comfort and reduce pressure during game play. On the heel, PUMA branding is embossed, and Haliburton’s “H” logo is stamped on the tongue, making the shoe instantly identifiable.
Underfoot, the sneaker features a translucent rubber outsole with a full-length herringbone traction pattern. Beneath the surface lies an X-shaped torsional plate that stabilizes the foot’s midsection during rapid transitions, hard cuts, and lateral movement. The Nitro foam midsole adds responsiveness without extra weight, combining cushioning with structural support. While full tech specs have yet to be published, early images confirm a focus on midfoot control and impact protection.
The Hibiscus colorway stands out with its saturated red upper and contrasting sole. The design avoids unnecessary layers and heavy overlays, instead emphasizing material performance and player comfort. The outsole also features a visible “H” beneath the heel, embedded inside the translucent layer as an added design cue.
Before launching his own model, Haliburton regularly played in PUMA’s All-Pro NITRO line, often seen in player-exclusive colorways like “Pinstripe” and “Gold Rush.” Those models featured similar structural components – such as extended traction zones, TPU supports, and strap-based lockdown systems – laying the foundation for what would evolve into the Hali 1 platform. That technical progression is now finished in a signature model built for his speed and flexibility.
