Girard-Perregaux expands the Laureato line with the new 42 mm Infinite Grey model. Originally introduced in 1975, the Laureato has built its reputation on precision design and in-house engineering. The newest edition respects that origin while offering a dial shaped by technique and intensity, a grey Grand Feu enamel surface produced through a demanding process within the Sowind Group workshops.

This enamel dial reveals depth through its construction. A translucent layer rests over a flinqué sunray motif, allowing light to interact with the surface and expose subtle shifts in tone. The enamel’s bluish-grey finish results from a calibrated mix of silica, minium, potash, soda, and metal oxides. Each layer undergoes multiple firings at 800°C, with only a portion of the dials surviving the process.
The 42 mm steel case features alternating polished and satin finishes across its octagonal bezel, circular plinth, and tonneau-shaped profile. At 10.68 mm thick, the case remains balanced and measured. Sapphire crystal shields both the dial and case-back, delivering clear visibility without distortion.
The integrated steel bracelet continues the case’s finish pattern, combining brushed and polished segments for visual rhythm. The watch sits evenly on the wrist, offering both structure and ease. Rhodium-plated baton hands keep the time, while a slender central seconds hand includes a counterweight shaped after the Girard-Perregaux Gold Bridge. A colour-matched date display at 3 o’clock aligns with the dial’s tone, using white numerals for clarity.
Inside the case, the GP01800 calibre powers the watch. This self-winding movement, developed and assembled at the brand’s La Chaux-de-Fonds Manufacture, measures 3.97 mm in thickness and consists of 191 components. It stores a minimum 54-hour power reserve. Finishing details include a pink gold oscillating weight with circular Côtes de Genève, straight Côtes de Genève on the bridges, mirror-polished screws, beveled edges, circular graining on the main plate, and gilded text.
The watch runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and provides water resistance up to 100 meters. Each detail, from case finish to calibre decoration, underscores the mechanical and visual clarity that continues to define the Laureato.
