Skepta and Puma Collaborate on Monochrome Capsule

Skepta and Puma return with a new capsule that strips everything back to focus on form and material. The release takes place in two stages, beginning at the Big Smoke Festival in London on August 9-10, 2025, before launching globally on August 14 through Puma’s website and select retailers. The collaboration delivers a compact lineup defined by black-on-black finishes and engineered precision.

The collection includes a heavyweight hoodie, a t-shirt, and a cap, each built with attention to fit and finish. These pieces avoid graphic-heavy treatments and instead lean into the weight and construction of the garments. The hoodie and tee use dense fabrics to establish structure, while the cap carries a utilitarian feel with sharp detailing. All three pieces feature a custom co-branded badge created specifically for the collaboration. The badge acts as the only external signal of branding across the apparel, stitched in to reinforce rather than distract.

Puma and Skepta approach this drop with uniform thinking. The capsule builds a set of essentials that carry a sense of cohesion through fabric and function. Each item reflects a restrained design approach, using construction and silhouette to create presence. No piece tries to stand out through print or contrast. The collection avoids decorative elements in favor of strong materials and smart adjustments.

The Skope Forever Low sneaker anchors the release. Puma and Skepta design the shoe with smooth black leather and minimal branding. The tongue features a silver badge, and the Formstrip reduces to a single line of stitching. Rope laces and a hiking-style sole reshape the sneaker into something new: functional, familiar, and sharpened through detail. Contrast tabs add dimension to the otherwise tonal design. Instead of leaning on color shifts or loud logos, the sneaker relies on textural and material changes to drive interest.

The sneaker doesn’t sit apart from the apparel, it extends the same ideas. The leather upper speaks to the dense cotton of the hoodie. The rope laces connect with the stitching on the co-branded badge. The whole capsule feels built with the same set of tools, each piece adjusted for its function but united by its source.

Puma and Skepta use the limited color palette to their advantage. Black-on-black creates room to focus on fabrication and shape. There’s no need to offset anything with bright contrast or layered graphics.

The first release takes place at the Big Smoke Festival in London. Skepta’s presence at the event ties the capsule to his ongoing creative output beyond music. The on-site drop connects the clothes and shoes directly to his audience, grounding the collaboration in a live context before it moves to the global stage.

After the festival, Puma will release the full collection online and through select retailers starting August 14. The staged rollout gives the capsule a physical starting point while still allowing wider access.
