TOGA’s Spring Summer 2026 collection presented a thoughtful exploration of simplicity elevated into artistry. Inspired by a 30-minute Claes Oldenburg interview, designer Yasuko Furuta asked how ordinary objects can be transformed into something unexpected and unique. That question became the guiding principle for the season, informing each silhouette, fabric choice, and detail.
SPRING SUMMER 2026
Following a previous collection that focused on formality and structure, this season Furuta sought to distance the work from intellectual rigidity, instead embracing the straightforward essence of everyday life. The collection captures the small, fleeting moments that often go unnoticed, the scoop of ice cream as it lands on the ground, its soft shape disrupted, the melancholy embedded in that tiny accident, and transforms these observations into wearable forms.

Runway looks conveyed versatility at their core. Pieces maintained a sense of ordinariness while offering subtle innovations in shape, texture, and layering, allowing them to move seamlessly across different occasions. Draping and proportions were recalibrated to feel effortless yet intentional, echoing Furuta’s aim of creating clothing that feels familiar but carries a renewed sense of wonder.

This season, TOGA demonstrates that design does not need to be elaborate to be impactful. Through careful observation, playful reinterpretation, and attention to detail, Furuta transforms everyday shapes into pieces that are simultaneously relatable and artful. The result is a collection that celebrates the extraordinary in the ordinary, balancing wearability with quiet inventiveness.
