Gap has announced a new collaboration with New York-based designer Sandy Liang, set to launch October 10. The limited-edition women’s and kids’ collection takes Gap’s most recognizable essentials and filters them through Liang’s signature aesthetic, resulting in a playful, wearable assortment that carries cross-generational appeal.
Since debuting her brand in 2014, Sandy Liang has become a defining voice in New York fashion, known for balancing soft femininity with a sharp downtown edge. With this partnership, she turns her cult-favorite vocabulary toward Gap’s heritage pieces, translating bow accents, nostalgic silhouettes, and whimsical touches into denim, fleece, and outerwear staples.

Highlights include a pleated denim mini skirt, a vegan fur crop denim jacket, and ’90s-inspired carpenter jeans. Gap’s iconic fleece is updated with oversized hoodies marked by reimagined logo treatments and Liang’s signature bow detailing. Outerwear ranges from a reversible vegan leather sherpa jacket to a trench coat finished with bow ties, alongside a half-zip pullover cut in vegan fur. Extending across generations, online exclusives also adapt key designs into mini matchbacks for babies and toddlers, with Liang’s own son, Rainer, appearing in the campaign.

The collaboration is accompanied by an animated short film titled Sandy’s Dream Closet, created by Annie Choi. Set on New York’s Lower East Side above Congee Village, the restaurant owned by Liang’s father, the film recalls the designer’s childhood visions of style and self-expression. Through animation, the story imagines a young Sandy daydreaming of the future, with the Gap × Sandy Liang collaboration representing her adult vision of identity and creativity.
“Growing up, Gap was the pinnacle of fashion,” Liang reflects. “It’s incredible that I get to co-create with such an iconic brand that I treasured so much as a child, yet is still so relevant today. I wanted to take the pieces that meant something to me as a kid and reimagine them through my lens today, celebrating girlhood in all its forms, while honoring the iconic styles that make Gap so timeless.”

Launching on October 10 at 9 a.m. ET, the Gap × Sandy Liang collection will be available on gap.com, in select Gap stores worldwide, and at Sandy Liang’s flagship in New York. Price points range from $15 to $268, with exclusive early access offered to Gap cardholders on October 9.
