The best celebrity looks quickly became part of the conversation at the 98th Oscars, as Hollywood’s biggest night also brought major fashion to the red carpet. The ceremony took place on March 15, 2026, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, where the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences presented awards in 24 categories for films released in 2025.

OSCARS

Comedian Conan O’Brien returned to host the 98th Oscars broadcast, marking his second consecutive year leading the ceremony. Actors, filmmakers, and cultural figures arrived in Los Angeles for the annual gathering that has defined the film industry since the first ceremony in 1929. The Academy Awards recognize artistic and technical achievement in cinema, while the red carpet often delivers its own moment of attention.

Emma Stone wore a white hand-embroidered empire-cut Louis Vuitton gown styled with matching sandals. Demi Moore appeared in a custom Gucci gown, while Anne Hathaway arrived in Valentino Haute Couture wearing a black velvet dress decorated with hand-painted pink satin floral embroidery accented with gold tubes and silver center details from Alessandro Michele’s Specula Mundi collection. Kate Hudson attended the ceremony in a custom Giorgio Armani Privé gown with a plunging sweetheart neckline and a peplum waist finished with stone and crystal embroidery from the Spring Summer 2026 Jade collection designed by Silvana Armani.

Nicole Kidman and Teyana Taylor both selected Chanel for the evening, while Ava DuVernay wore Louis Vuitton, choosing a navy blue silk crepe gown with a tonal silk faille bustier and off-shoulder sleeves styled with a Petite Malle. Renate Reinsve stepped onto the carpet in a red silk crepe dress styled with red sandals and Louis Vuitton High Jewelry including a white gold and diamond bracelet and a white gold, onyx and diamond ring. Wunmi Mosaku wore a green hand-embroidered asymmetric Louis Vuitton gown styled with green flats, while Chase Infiniti appeared in a lavender silk Louis Vuitton gown finished with multilayered waterfall frills.

Dior dressed a number of high-profile guests at the ceremony, including Rose Byrne, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ejae, Priyanka Chopra, Amy Madigan, Mikey Madison, Bobby Cannavale, Mia Goth, and Anna Wintour, each arriving in looks from the house. Elle Fanning and Timothée Chalamet both chose Givenchy by Sarah Burton for the evening, bringing the designer’s first Oscars season with the house onto the red carpet.

Actor Hudson Williams attended in a custom Balenciaga tuxedo that included a double-breasted jacket and large fit tailored trousers in black wool tailoring twill paired with a black cotton poplin shirt and black tie. Jayme Lawson, Jack Fisk, Sissy Spacek, and Schuyler Fisk all wore LOEWE by Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez. Lawson chose a halter-neck dress embroidered with 3D-printed fringes inspired by the Spring Summer 2026 collection, styled with New Comic Slingback pumps. Jack Fisk selected a single-breasted tuxedo jacket with peaked lapels styled with straight-leg trousers and a black shirt. Sissy Spacek appeared in a single-breasted dry wool jacket with side slits styled with matching trousers, a satin camisole, Comic sandals, and a mini Flamenco clutch. Schuyler Fisk wore a draped dress from the Fall Winter 2026 precollection paired with a Minaudière bag and New Comic Slingback pumps.

Paul Mescal attended the ceremony in Celine wearing a custom black cardigan jacket in cashmere wool with a white poplin cotton shirt, a silk twill loose knot tie, custom classic mohair trousers with an integrated satin cummerbund, a Vivienne belt in black taurillon leather, and Hector boots in black lambskin. Kirsten Dunst also wore Celine, choosing a bustier tiered dress in black triple silk organza styled with Sharp 110 pumps and a small Triomphe Frame bag.

Barbie Ferreira wore a custom GapStudio gown designed by Zac Posen crafted in Gap blue moiré taffeta with a corseted bodice and sweeping skirt inspired by the Gap Original Big Shirt. Actor Milo Manheim wore a custom GapStudio tuxedo designed by Zac Posen featuring a coat-length jacket in midnight wool cavalry twill with silk faille lapels styled with a chambray shirt and matching trousers.

Miles Caton chose custom AMIRI tailoring, wearing a plum single-breasted jacket layered over a plum shirt and tie with MA Fit trousers and leather MA pointy boots. Channing Tatum wore Versace, appearing in a double-breasted wool and mohair blend blazer with peak lapels finished in duchesse satin.

These appearances shaped one of the most closely watched red carpets of the year, where fashion shared the spotlight with cinema during Hollywood’s biggest night. Across the arrivals at the Dolby Theatre, actors, filmmakers, and cultural figures delivered a wide range of red carpet looks that extended the conversation around style well beyond the ceremony itself.
