Mugler presents The Wardrobe of Identities, a concentrated view of form and expression shaped by Creative Director Miguel Castro Freitas. This marks his first visual narrative for the house and sets the tone for a new chapter built through clarity, structure, and a forward-looking edit of essential pieces. The Wardrobe Pre-Collection SS26 introduces a sequence of archetypes envisioned as a living system of garments.

Freitas approaches this pre-collection with a deliberate gaze on silhouette. He focuses on how the body shifts, how fabric reacts, and how a garment signals identity through shape. The selection spans sculpted tailoring, satin that moves with weight and direction, and jersey that holds precision while allowing flexibility. The emphasis on shoulders, waists, and controlled volume shapes the collection’s rhythm. Freitas uses these elements to establish continuity with the house’s codes while advancing them into sharper, more agile language.

The Wardrobe of Identities follows a clear thread: each item functions with purpose, operates within a system, and contributes to a broader study of transformation. Mugler’s architectural roots surface through structured jackets, engineered lines, and defined proportions. Freitas adds softened elements through controlled drape and directional fabric cuts. The collection orients itself toward a wearer who moves through different versions of self throughout the day, using clothing as a tool for expression and adaptation.

Photographer Reto Schmid shapes the visuals through crisp focus and an attention to body language. His images frame the garments as living objects rather than static displays. Stylist Robbie Spencer builds each look with precision, using the wardrobe structure to show how pieces interact. Libby Bennett appears throughout the series and embodies the concept of shifting identities. Her presence reflects the broader theme of self-construction, as she moves between controlled poise, deliberate softness, and playful sharpness.

Freitas does not treat this pre-collection as a retrospective; he positions it as the beginning of an evolving system. The Wardrobe of Identities functions as a foundation from which future collections can expand. The Mugler Wardrobe of Identities will be available from December 2025 on brand’s website and in selected boutiques worldwide.
