The anniversary edition brings the ACS PRO back to its earliest prototype and its role in sneaker culture.

Salomon presents the ACS PRO 20 YEAR ANNIVERSARY, a dedicated edition that marks the twentieth year of one of the brand’s most recognized trail models. The release returns to the design principles of the earliest prototype while asserting the influence the shoe has built over time. The anniversary version acknowledges the model’s past to set the tone for its next chapter.

SNEAKERS

Within sneaker culture, the ACS PRO holds an established profile. The anniversary edition reinforces that position by speaking to a wide community: collectors who track archival moments, shoppers who follow each release, and wearers who adopt the shoe into daily style. The ACS PRO 20 YEAR ANNIVERSARY enters the market with a level of confidence shaped by its form, its technical detail, and its continuous presence in the wider conversation.

Collaborations have played a major role in the ACS PRO story. Partnerships with KAR L’Art de l’Automobile, JAHJAH, and MM6 Maison Margiela contributed to its rise beyond performance footwear, placing the silhouette within fashion, art, and music circles. The shoe’s visibility increased as public figures such as Bella Hadid, Kylie Jenner, Tina Kunakey, and Lil Yachty adopted it, reinforcing its shift from trail origins to an object with strong cultural presence.

The color direction for the ACS PRO 20 YEAR ANNIVERSARY takes root in an unreleased sample from 2005. Sample pairs hold a unique status among collectors due to their extremely limited production and the design differences that separate them from final retail versions. These early prototypes often evolve across multiple iterations before reaching the public, which increases their desirability and emotional value among those who follow the process closely. Friends & Family editions exist within a similar category, circulating privately rather than entering stores. Some models never reach release at all and secure “grail” status upon recognition. By referencing a 2005 sample, Salomon positions this anniversary pair within that lineage of rarity and experimentation. The campaign draws from that early prototype and uses the idea of a “sample shoe” as the central creative thread.

To mark the twentieth anniversary, Salomon extends the release into a multi-city activation across Paris, New York, and Mexico City. The brand introduces a city-wide experience that hides winning codes in select locations. These codes offer participants the chance to obtain the ACS PRO 20 YEAR ANNIVERSARY or an undisclosed reward.

The ACS PRO 20 YEAR ANNIVERSARY connects the model’s trail origins with its cultural role today. Salomon brings back the earliest form and will launch the pair globally on December 10 at 10AM CET through their website and select retailers.
