Nike Re-Create and Renegade introduce a performance-inspired circular capsule that marks a new chapter for both initiatives. The collaboration presents eight apparel silhouettes developed entirely from locally sourced vintage garments and deadstock materials. This release marks the first time Nike Re-Create has produced performance tops and bottoms, expanding its approach to circular design into technical apparel.

Each garment exists as a one-of-a-kind piece. Designers constructed the collection through reclaimed materials, transforming pre-existing garments into new forms. Limited quantities define the release, reinforcing the singularity of each item. The capsule channels athletic references while maintaining a strong emphasis on circular production methods.

Victor Diaz, founder of Renegade Running, shaped the creative direction through personal history and cultural reference. The collection draws from the stitched and patched garments of his childhood, rooted in Indigenous Mexican culture. It also references avant-garde Japanese fashion and the Nike Running archive from the 1990s. These influences converge through construction techniques, material layering, and performance-driven silhouettes. The result merges athletic function with reinterpretation of archival sport aesthetics.
Nike Re-Create continues its focus on extending the life of existing products. The project transforms vintage apparel and surplus materials into contemporary performance pieces. This approach reframes value through reuse and reconstruction. The collaboration highlights sport and creativity as connective forces within community practice.

The capsule launches March 6 at Renegade Los Angeles and March 12 at Renegade Oakland. In addition to the apparel release, Nike Re-Create and Renegade will host circular design workshops at Renegade Los Angeles from February 28 to March 7. Powered by Are You Mad, the workshops offer participants opportunities to create custom designs using locally sourced vintage and leftover materials. Activities include screen printing with Los Angeles-inspired graphics, yoga sessions paired with recycled plastic elements, and incense holder making sessions.
Nike Recycling + Donation will operate at Renegade Los Angeles from February 28 to April 30. The program will accept eligible Nike footwear and apparel donations during this period. Through product release, workshop programming, and recycling initiatives, Nike Re-Create and Renegade frame this collaboration as an exploration of circular design rooted in performance apparel and community engagement.
