Puma Introduces the Ballet-Inspired H-Street Silhouette

The hybrid sneaker pairs track heritage with a Mary Jane structure, mesh upper, and elastic strap closure

Puma introduces a new interpretation of the H-Street silhouette through the H-Street Ballet, a design that connects the brand’s track heritage with ballet-inspired footwear. The release expands the H-Street family by translating an early-2000s running design into a lighter form that draws influence from ballet flats and Mary Jane shoes. The result presents a hybrid structure that retains elements of athletic footwear while introducing a softer visual language.

The H-Street Ballet draws directly from the original H-Street silhouette, a shoe rooted in track performance. Puma developed the original model from an archival running spike linked to the late-1990s Harambee racer. The Harambee silhouette functioned as a lightweight running shoe and carried a name derived from a Swahili phrase meaning “pull together.” That history established the performance identity that shaped later versions of the design.

This latest version retains recognizable details from the H-Street while introducing structural changes that alter the character of the shoe. The new silhouette adopts elements associated with ballet flats. An open forefoot replaces the closed structure of a typical sneaker, creating a lighter appearance. The design also introduces an elastic strap closure that references the Mary Jane archetype. These features create a hybrid form that bridges sport footwear and ballet-inspired styling.

Puma constructs the H-Street Ballet with a breathable mesh upper. This material keeps the shoe lightweight and flexible while maintaining airflow throughout the structure. The mesh surface contributes to the streamlined profile of the silhouette. This design approach supports comfort and mobility while preserving visual simplicity.

Several signature details from the H-Street remain intact within the design. The shoe maintains the T-shaped toe construction associated with the original silhouette. Puma also retains the track-inspired outsole tread pattern. These elements connect the new version with its athletic origin while the ballet-inspired structure reshapes the overall aesthetic.

The H-Street Ballet introduces a low-profile form that emphasizes ease and fluidity. The streamlined shape echoes the proportions of ballet flats while the underlying sneaker structure supports everyday wear. Through this combination, the silhouette interprets Puma’s running heritage through a different visual direction.

Puma releases the H-Street Ballet in three colorways that emphasize the minimal structure of the design. Subtle Puma branding appears across the shoe, maintaining a restrained visual identity. These finishing details allow the hybrid silhouette to remain the focal point of the design.

The H-Street Ballet also contributes to a growing category that merges athletic footwear with ballet-inspired shapes. Puma previously explored this territory through designs such as the Speedcat Ballet. The new release continues that direction by introducing another hybrid silhouette within the category.

The Puma H-Street Ballet launched first through an exclusive release at Naked Copenhagen on February 25, 2026. Puma expanded availability on March 1 through Puma.com, Puma flagship stores, and selected Puma stockists.
