MOVIES
Meryl Streep returns as Miranda Priestly, the formidable editor of Runway, who now faces the slow decline of print media while fighting to maintain the magazine’s influence. Anne Hathaway reprises her role as Andy Sachs, revisiting her connection with Miranda years after the events of the original film. Emily Blunt returns as Emily Charlton, whose career has advanced to a powerful executive position at a luxury conglomerate controlling major advertising budgets. Her new role places her in direct negotiation with Miranda, creating a new power dynamic between the former boss and assistant.
Stanley Tucci returns as Nigel, the Runway creative director. Tracie Thoms and Tibor Feldman also reprise their roles as Lily and Irv Ravitz. The sequel introduces additional cast members including Kenneth Branagh, Simone Ashley, Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu, Patrick Brammall, Caleb Hearon, Helen J. Shen, Pauline Chalamet, B. J. Novak and Conrad Ricamora.
Behind the camera, the original creative team returns to shape the sequel. David Frankel directs the film once again, continuing the visual direction established in the first installment. Aline Brosh McKenna writes the screenplay, returning to the story world she first introduced to audiences in 2006. Wendy Finerman produces the film, while Michael Bederman, Karen Rosenfelt and Aline Brosh McKenna serve as executive producers.
The newly released trailer places fashion, editorial authority and media power at the center of the narrative. Miranda Priestly confronts an industry where print publishing faces mounting pressure while new corporate players control the financial structures that sustain fashion media.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 will premiere exclusively in theaters on May 1, 2026. The new trailer offers the clearest look yet at how the story returns to Runway magazine and revisits the characters who shaped one of fashion cinema’s most recognizable narratives.
