adidas has introduced CODECHAOS Messi, a limited-edition golf shoe the brand created for Lionel Messi as Argentina begins its title defense at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The release marks the first Messi-inspired golf shoe from adidas and connects his football history with adidas Golf technology.
The launch arrived as Argentina opened Group J against Algeria at Kansas City Stadium. Argentina won 3-0, with Messi scoring in the 17th, 60th and 76th minutes. His hat-trick took his tournament total to 16 goals, matching Miroslav Klose’s men’s scoring record. The match also gave Messi his 200th appearance for Argentina and made him the first player to compete in six editions of the tournament.

CODECHAOS Messi draws from the F50.6 TUNIT “El Último Tango” football boot and adapts its visual cues for golf. adidas paired a microfiber leather upper with the CODECHAOS outsole, creating a direct link between Messi’s football footwear and the brand’s golf line. The shoe uses an AXISLOCK stabilizer through the heel and midfoot to support golfers during the swing. A TWISTGRIP traction system supplies grip underfoot, while full-length BOOST cushioning supports comfort over a full round.
The color scheme draws from Argentina’s national colors through ivory, gold and sky blue. adidas placed the “Messi” logo on the tongue and sock liner, giving the footballer’s identity a visible presence throughout the design. Each pair comes in upgraded packaging featuring the “Messi” and CODECHAOS logos.

Jeff Lienhart, General Manager Golf at adidas, explained that the company wanted to mark the tournament through a project that joined its golf and football teams. Messi gave both divisions a clear shared reference, allowing the designers to translate a familiar football boot into a golf format. The result keeps key visual links to the F50 while adding features that address traction, stability and cushioning on the course.
adidas also built the campaign around Silvies Valley Ranch in Eastern Oregon. The images show the footwear with the ranch’s goat caddies, which belong to its sustainable goat farming operation. The ranch trains the goats to carry equipment on two golf courses, giving the campaign a playful setting and a direct connection to the game.

The CODECHAOS Messi release joins Fifa World Cup 2026 timing, Argentina colors and golf engineering in one limited product. It gives fans a footwear design tied to Messi’s record-setting opening performance while retaining the functional elements golfers expect from the CODECHAOS line.
The CODECHAOS Messi launches today, June 17, on adidas.com, the adidas app and at select retailers until stock runs out.
