It suggests rhythm, spontaneity, and the choice to dress oneself into a better mood. Madame Woo builds the collection around that feeling, asking what joy can look like when translated into clothing. Light, color, and traces of wear guide the season. Fabrics appear sun faded or handed down, giving the garments a sense of life already lived. A checked wool vest in navy and butter yellow appears over a white shirt, while a pale cream skirt carries an embroidered pendant inspired by the gwaebul norigae, a protective talisman.
Pattern carries much of the collection’s energy. Stripes appear on outerwear, shirts, and bags, drawing from global dress traditions. Checks return through suiting and loungewear, while crumple dyed sheers create a feather like lightness. Marabou adds texture and a more playful note.
Korean artistic references shape the graphics and palette. Minhwa cranes, symbols of freedom, appear with natural signs of longevity from sipjansaengdo folk painting. Lotus flowers bring another symbol of purity. These motifs appear on shirts and embroidered denim with a bright, direct quality.
