"I Love New York, but I'd kind of thought New York was Times Square, and Serena is this very sophisticated person, so I hated to take that on. I wore my little pea coats and ballet flats when I went out to do errands. There's a responsibility you have to character, especially one that people are so attached to, to make her real. The last thing you want to hear is 'Oh, she looks like Serena, but she's not really Serena!"
