The new Academy rises on the same site of the former California Academy of Science in Golden Gate Park, with primary goal to provide modern facility for education, exhibition, conservation and research under one roof. Implementing eco-solutions the building has natural ventilation instead of air conditioning, carefully chosen building materials, efficient reuse of energy and water. Landscaped green roof, undulates to accommodate Academy’s Planetarium, the Rain forest Exhibit and the Steinhart Aquarium entrance.
