Emmy Winner Jodie Comer stars in Loewe‘s Spring Summer 2020 campaign captured by fashion photographer Steven Meisel. In charge of creative direction was Jonathan Anderson, with art direction from M/M (Paris), and casting direction by Ashley Brokaw. Styling is work of Benjamin Bruno, with set design from Mary Howard, and beauty by hair stylist Guido Palau, makeup artist Pat McGrath, and manicurist Jin Soon Choi. Benn Northover directed video campaign.
“Jonathan Anderson collaborated with Steven Meisel, M/M (Paris) and director Benn Northover to produce Either Way, a short film featuring Emmy and BAFTA-winning Killing Eve actor Jodie Comer as she prepares a performance backstage in her dressing room. The camera hovers over her shoulder, capturing Comer’s face as she watches herself in the mirror, enacting a myriad of intense emotions as she repeats her single line, “LOW-EV-AY”
The voyeuristic experience is distilled in one powerful portrait for the print campaign, which – in keeping with LOEWE’s collaborations with Meisel and M/M (Paris) – is released as a trilogy.
The image is joined by the next in Meisel’s A Show of Hand series. Fluorescent green ooze is stretched between manicured hands with extra-long fingernails in a play on symbols of popular protest. A still life of three Lazo Mini Bags, new for Spring Summer 2020, handcrafted in soft orange, yellow and burgundy calfskin leather, makes up the triptych.“
