Fashion brand ZARA presented their Winter 2019.20 upcycled outerwear collection, that was made with recycled polyester, and for the first time this polyester is made partly from plastic recovered on beaches and river banks. Stars of Zara‘s upcycled outerwear collection lookbook are top models Sara Blomqvist and Ugbad.
“This plastic is collected within 50 km of waterways and coastal areas without a formal collection infrastructure in rivera maya coast. The collected plastic is sorted by quality so it can be recycled correctly. Pet, the material used in water bottles, is recovered and transformed into upcycled polyester.“
