Creating the Ultimate Backyard? Here’s How!

Having a great, magazine-worthy backyard is something that every homeowner wants. After all, who wouldn’t like their neighbors to be jealous of that lush green grass, or high-end gazebo?

That’s right. We all want that deep inside of us, even if we don’t admit it.

And, it’s not just about that. A well done, great looking backyard can drastically increase the value of your property, and after all, you’re making a space that you can spend time just chilling, or playing with your children, hosting the best barbeque parties on the block and so on.

So, whether you’d be figuring out ways to install a backyard fountain (for more info on that check Outdoor Fountain Pros website as they’re pro’s in that) or you’re just wondering whether to choose a gazebo or a pool (psst, the answer is always the pool) we’re going over all that in this article, so hang tight and just keep reading.

Continue reading for more tips from our editors after the jump:

Put your time and a little bit of money to make the grass greener and thicker.

See, one of the biggest perks of having a backyard is that you can spend all the time you want laying on the ground, looking at the sun, and just overall enjoying the feel of grass under your feet.

But no one likes patchy, dry lawns, do they? Nope!

That’s why it’s always a great idea to invest time and money to make your backyard lush and thick and just overall magazine-worthy. While this is no easy task, there are numerous guides on the topic readily available on the internet.

But if you don’t feel like you’re capable to do it, just hire a professional gardener to do it for you! After all, that’s what they do best. Yes, it might be a bit on the pricier side, but it’s always best to pay a bit more and get what you want than to waste money on something that may, or may not happen.

Save up some money and invest them into a nice, high-quality patio that you can spend some quality time on.

A well-made patio is something that can give you the opportunity to charge $10,000 more if you ever decide to sell your property. That’s because you’re practically building an outside, summer dining space.

And who doesn’t enjoy dining under the stars?

So, if you aren’t especially good at carpentry, definitely go with someone who’s doing this for a living and don’t experiment. After all, you would want to have something that can withstand the test of time.

Don’t neglect your fence, as you’re spending way more time looking at it than you realize.

There is a pretty big chance that every time you’re spending time in your backyard you’re looking at your fence, realize it or not. That’s why it’s always best to invest some extra money and either build up a new, good looking fence or even better if you can save it — give it a fresh lick of paint.

The second option is always cheaper, so if you can go with it, definitely will.

If you have some extra space left, consider adding a nice jacuzzi, or even dig up your very own backyard pool.

Okay, this one is definitely on the pricier side of things, but if you’re really going to build the best backyard ever, and you have the extra space to add a jacuzzi or a swimming pool, then definitely will.

While you’ll need a whole crew to help you dig a pool, it can be especially profitable if you want to make your property more desired for home seekers and ask for a higher buying price.

A jacuzzi will be the cheaper, faster, and yet equally alluring for future home buyers, and it can be a great way to destress after a long day at work.

What about building a gazebo to increase the value of your property?

Every high-end property has a gazebo in the backyard. While it’s really inexpensive to build one, home lookers know that when they hear there’s one in the backyard it’s serious business.

And the best thing is that you can buy a pre-made one and just build them following the instruction by yourself!

And finally add the final touches with tiny, but mighty details!

Yup! The final touches are what make a good looking backyard feel amazing. Add potted plants, a fountain, a good walkway and you’re already on your path to having a magazine-worthy backyard.

Just don’t forget that you will have to spend a lot of time and energy in building your backyard! But hey, if it was easy, it wouldn’t be worth it.
