Current circumstances mean we have to spend more time at home. But this allows us to rediscover the intimacy of family life, to share and enjoy different forms of entertainment and rediscover the values which unite and indeed define us. Francesca Ruffini presented F.R.S For Restless Sleepers Fall Winter 2021 collection, inspired by old boardgames, magical maps of the stars and planets and eighteenth-century designs.
FALL WINTER 2021 COLLECTIONS

Memories of old boardgames we have always enjoyed playing together – Snakes and Ladders, the game of Wanderers in the Wilderness—appear in the sumptuous iconography printed onto velvet-trim quilted bedspreads which can actually be used for enjoying a game, armed with dice and an assortment of counters.

Magical maps of the stars and planets, printed on long quilted velvet shirt jackets, lend themselves to a spot of impromptu fortune-telling. Enveloping dressing gowns can be transformed into coats and dusters make the perfect companions for metropolitan exploration. The indoor/outdoor dichotomy has long been banished from the world of F.R.S For Restless Sleepers in which comfortable, snug loungewear dons such sophisticated, versatile colors that it naturally lends itself to fast-pace city life.

Eighteenth-century designs inspired by an old screen; exquisite Japanese miniatures unearthed in an archive; antique reproductions of mysterious Amazonian jungles; peonies and birds of paradise blurred to dreamlike effect. – from F.R.S For Restless Sleepers.
