Luxury house Burberry unveiled its Spring 2024 campaign featuring an eclectic mix of stars, including Arsenal soccer player Bukayo Saka, Blur’s Damon Albarn, actors Jessie Buckley and Jun Ji-Hyun, singer-songwriter King Krule, principal dancer of The Royal Ballet Matthew Ball, musician Neneh Cherry, actors Rachel Weisz and Ramla Ali, Tottenham Hotspur player Son Heung-Min, musician Tems, models Amelie Steele, He Cong, Iris Law, Jourdan Dunn, Naomi Janumala, Rakim Janneh, Stevie Sims, and Rittika Ray. In charge of photography was Tyrone Lebon.
The campaign spotlights key items from Burberry’s Spring 2024 collection, highlighting Lee’s unique take on the brand, such as the Knight and peg bags, a duck print top and skirt, a yellow tartan car coat, and head-to-toe floral prints. These pieces blend British eccentricity with a grounded, classic approach, reflecting Lee’s vision for the brand. The collection explores Lee’s desire to create wearable designs that still incorporate elements of British eccentricity. He sees Burberry as fundamentally grounded, with classicism as its foundation.
The collection focuses on refinement, incorporating functional elements and finishes. Silk chiffon dresses feature attached hoods, silk scarves are elegantly looped through viscose rib-knits, and shoulders are enhanced with incorporated epaulettes. Zips and press studs offer versatility in both use and fit. The vibrancy of Knight blue accents is prominent, gracing the piping of dandelion-print silk pyjamas, fastenings of quilted jackets, and taping seams of car coats. The color palette is diverse, ranging from sherbet, cameo, and ivy to rhubarb, khaki, trench, knight blue, black, and white. Described as joyful, prints add a lively touch. Inspired by Savile Row, tailoring and fabrics feature peak lapels and an hourglass waist in jackets. Prince of Wales and houndstooth check jacquards are reimagined, recolored, magnified, and warped.
