Nike Basketball and Kevin Durant return with the KD19, the nineteenth chapter in his signature footwear line. The new model brings a focused approach to performance, combining responsive cushioning, structured support, and a design that reflects Durant’s presence on the court.

The KD19 centers on a multilayer cushioning system engineered to support constant movement and impact. At its core sits a full-length Zoom Strobel, a technology previously introduced in the KD12. This system works alongside a 3D-molded sock liner and a Cushlon 3.0 midsole, creating a setup that prioritizes comfort and energy return.

A midfoot shank reinforces the platform, helping maintain balance through quick changes in direction and extended play. This addition supports the demands of full-game performance, offering consistency from opening tip to final possession. The construction keeps the foot secure while allowing the player to stay responsive in motion.
The upper introduces a distinct visual and functional element through an exterior TPU component. Nike engineers developed this feature using a dual-injection process. The first stage forms the base structure, delivering targeted support around the heel and midfoot. The second stage shapes the outer layer into a dagger-like form, creating a sharp visual identity tied to Durant’s “Slim Reaper” nickname.

Breathability remains a focus through the inclusion of a textile tongue, allowing airflow during play. Additional details reference Durant’s identity, including the integration of his jersey numbers, 35 and 7, on the outsole.
Ross Klein, Vice President and Creative Director of Nike Basketball, frames the KD19 as a reflection of Durant’s game. He describes the shoe as visually distinct and built for immediate responsiveness and sustained comfort, supporting players as they move across the court and create scoring opportunities.

Following its on-court debut on March 16, the KD19 will release June 13 on SNKRS before a global launch on June 17. Material choices, color direction, and finishes define the model while grounding it in basketball culture.
