Converse has recently collaborated with three innovative designers – Brooklyn-based jewelry and accessories designer Martine Ali, French fashion designer Isabel Marant, and Chinese-born, London-based menswear designer Feng Chen Wang – to reimagine its iconic Chuck Taylor All Star.

This collaboration aims to push the boundaries of the brand’s DNA and explore new creative dimensions.
Martine Ali will kick off the collaboration with her unique interpretation of the new Chuck 70 De Luxe Wedge. This design features a radical, angular midsole and an asymmetric squared toecap, paired with a full leather upper. The shoe, offering nearly four inches of elevation, reinterprets the classic Chuck Taylor All Star design with a bold new twist. Ali drew inspiration from waders, resulting in a transformative and refined design. The Converse x Martine Ali Chuck 70 De Luxe Wedge will be available in two styles – with and without gaiters.
This silhouette, debuting entirely in black, includes stud closures and is adjustable, breathable, and durable. The gaiters attach to the studs and have minimal co-branding, full-length zippers, and wax laces, allowing for versatile styling. Martine Ali emphasizes the shoe’s capacity for personal expression, describing it as adaptable from casual to dressy and suitable for any occasion.
Converse views this collaboration as an opportunity to use its heritage as a platform for advancing style, fit, form, and function. The brand aims to continue fostering creative expression among cultural influencers like Martine Ali.
The Converse x Martine Ali Chuck 70 De Luxe Wedge is set to launch globally on December 1, 2023, on Converse.com and at select global retailers. In Europe, it will be available at selected retailers in early 2024.
