Ancuța Sarca ’s SS25 collection combines two seemingly opposing worlds: the sleek, minimalist corporate aesthetic of the 2020s and the vibrant, rebellious spirit of the 1960s. Photographer Stencer Saintelange captured backstage moments at the Ancuta Sarca SS25 presentation, exclusively for DSCENE Magazine. Drawing inspiration from the streets of London, where structured business attire mixes with personal style choices, Sarca reimagines everyday office staples—monochrome suits and tracksuits—by injecting them with bold elements. This juxtaposition of corporate formality and self-expression serves as the foundation for the collection, offering a fresh take on how we present ourselves in modern life.
The SS25 collection dives deeper into the contrasts between rigid office wear and the energetic freedom of the sixties. Sarca incorporates animal prints into sportswear, pairing upcycled snakeskin heels with masculine shirting and oversized leopard-print boots with sportswear stripes. These designs capture the balance between the different roles people play, blending the boldness of the sixties with the structure of corporate life. New menswear looks reflect this theme as well, taking inspiration from cycling and sportswear, while repurposing classic styles like loafers in materials such as faux snakeskin and chrome.
One of the highlights of the collection is Sarca’s collaboration with Crocs and Clarks, where she breathes new life into their iconic designs. Reimagining Clarks Originals Wallabees with deadstock materials, Sarca brings sustainability to the forefront. Meanwhile, her reinterpretation of Crocs features creative hybrid styles, combining elements of trainers and loafers while retaining Crocs’ signature comfort. Through these collaborations, Sarca not only reinvents classic footwear but also showcases her ability to blend innovation and sustainability in a modern fashion context.
