VIVET presented its debut collection, at Cipriani in Lower Manhattan. Founded by digital creator and entrepreneur Kai Cenat, the label covers menswear, womenswear, footwear and luxury leather goods, connecting contemporary tailoring with sportswear references and subcultural influences.
SPRING SUMMER 2027
The name VIVET derives from a Latin phrase meaning “he, she, or it will live forever.” Cenat developed the label after spending months in Italy studying textile manufacturing, pattern-making and leather construction alongside industry specialists. He approaches the collection as a physical record of his own development, translating his changing personal style into the clothes.

The runway followed three acts that traced this progression. Cenat’s journal provided a continuous reference throughout the presentation, while the silhouettes shifted from oversized, layered forms toward sharper tailoring. Color and attitude remained consistent from beginning to end.
Act One, titled Origin, introduced intentionally unresolved hoodies and sweatpants with crude proportions and misshapen forms. Heavy jackets remained open to emphasize volume. The Beginner Hoodie, the first VIVET piece Cenat sewed by hand, opened the show and established the starting point for the collection.
Act Two, Exploration, brought subcultural references into heavier layering. Leather overcoats, substantial outerwear, skinny denim and structured boots created the densest silhouettes of the presentation. Open jackets maintained an informal quality while leather became increasingly prominent.

Act Three, Authorship, introduced tailored suiting, structured leather coats and fluid silk in cleaner forms. For the first time during the runway, jackets and coats appeared fully closed, signaling greater structure and control. The shift completed the collection’s progression from unrefined streetwear references toward precise tailoring.
Leather provides a central material throughout VIVET’s debut. The collection uses cotton canvas, neoprene, denim and leather, with the latter appearing in outerwear, trousers and tailored shirting. Cotton canvas and denim establish the workwear foundation, while neoprene gives garments additional structure.
Construction exposes elements of the garment-making process through gusseted elbows, diagonal pleats and visible seams. Cenat also uses hand-applied waxes and varnishes to harden and alter surfaces. Warm ground tones run throughout the collection, joined by white, silver, mustard and blue.

Leather goods form another major category. The Cenova bag, the earliest accessory concept, appears with key men’s and women’s looks. The Streamer bag translates references to digital broadcasting into a luxury leather object. Boots, leather pieces and visible hand-finishing recur throughout all three acts.
Cenat also draws directly from his personal background. The scuba moto shirt, varnished jeans and cargo work jacket reference his Haitian background and carnival tradition through their cuts and finishes.
With its first New York presentation, VIVET introduces Cenat’s design vocabulary through clothing that traces his development from early experimentation to a more controlled approach.
