Lacoste and Novak Djokovic Make History on the Great Wall of China

Novak Djokovic joins Lacoste atop the Great Wall of China for an unforgettable fusion of fashion, sports, and culture, celebrating boldness and creativity.

The Great Wall of Juyongguan, an iconic man-made marvel in Beijing, hosted one of the most remarkable fashion-sports events ever conceived by Lacoste. The brand transformed this architectural wonder into the backdrop for its latest campaign, “Play Big,” blending the worlds of sports, fashion, and heritage. The event was a bold tribute to Lacoste ambassador Novak Djokovic, showcasing the brand’s innovative spirit and celebrating the tennis legend in a way never seen before.

Lacoste’s “Play Big” campaign took on new heights—literally—by turning one of the Seven Wonders of the World into a playground for its most ambitious event. The Great Wall became the heart of a magical evening that welcomed celebrities, influencers, and VIPs, starting with activities at Club Lacoste, where four themed platforms celebrated the rich cultures of China and France. The centuries-old stonework of the Wall was adorned with Lacoste’s iconic crocodile logo, a fitting contrast of tradition and modernity.

The highlight of the night came when Novak Djokovic, Lacoste’s global ambassador, took the stage on a custom-built tennis court nestled atop the Great Wall. After a dramatic entrance through a secret passage, the tennis court was unveiled to the astonished crowd. A countdown led to an aerial tennis performance that set the tone for the evening. Djokovic, along with Chinese actor and Lacoste ambassador Wang Yibo, engaged in a friendly ‘serve challenge,’ a symbolic clash of tennis titans in an awe-inspiring setting.

The rain added an extra layer of enchantment to the event, turning the night into an atmospheric spectacle. Djokovic shared his thoughts on fashion, tennis, and his partnership with Lacoste before the guests were treated to a series of interactive performances and exhibitions. The festivities culminated in a dazzling after-party, where attendees mingled and celebrated under the misty sky, rounding out an unforgettable experience atop one of the most iconic structures in the world.

Lacoste’s event pushed the boundaries of innovation by creating a tennis court on the Great Wall—a historic first. The combination of cutting-edge technology and the enduring grandeur of the Great Wall highlighted Lacoste’s commitment to boldness and creativity. This event not only paid homage to Novak Djokovic but also celebrated Lacoste’s strong connection to China, a country that shares the brand’s values of strength and perseverance.

By selecting the Great Wall of China for its “Play Big” campaign, Lacoste delivered a message of tenacity, elegance, and modernity. The event’s fusion of sport, fashion, and culture was a powerful testament to the brand’s dedication to pushing boundaries while honoring tradition.
