Gucci presented its Spring Summer 2025 campaign, Where Light Finds Us, a cinematic exploration of light and emotion shaped by creative director Sabato De Sarno. Directed by the visionary Xavier Dolan, the campaign stars actors Yara Shahidi and George MacKay, whose performances capture fleeting moments of connection and introspection.
Set in spaces where sunlight streams through half-open windows, the campaign transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary. Dolan’s direction highlights the intimacy of subtle gestures and fragmented emotions, crafting a story that feels both grounded in reality and tinged with a dreamlike quality. Each location functions as an inner sanctuary, with light acting as a living presence, revealing truths that often remain unseen.

The Gucci Spring Summer 2025 collection itself integrates easily into this evocative narrative. Lightweight fabrics and structured silhouettes reflect the balance of simplicity and complexity, while luminous hues alternate with unexpected pops of color. Signature pieces, like the reimagined Bamboo 1947 bag, bridge the gap between Gucci’s rich heritage and a forward-looking aesthetic. This blend of tradition and innovation speaks to De Sarno’s vision of celebrating personal freedom through fashion while embracing the beauty of everyday life.

Reflecting on the campaign, De Sarno described it as a tribute to humanity in its most vivid and tender forms. “This collection is about celebrating the fleeting, extraordinary moments that define what it means to be human,” he explained. “Working with Xavier Dolan allowed us to capture a precise, magical, and unpredictable moment where love and connection unfold in their purest essence.”

Dolan’s filmmaking expertise is central to the campaign’s emotional depth. His focus on light transforms it into a narrative force, emphasizing themes of authenticity and vulnerability. The campaign offers a moment of pause, a call to embrace the fragility and beauty of human connection. As Dolan put it, “Here are 60 seconds to breathe in, breathe out, see a scarf billow in the breeze, take in some dust flowing through the air, some warmth. If it stays with you for a minute or so and brings even the slightest comfort, then it was all worth it.”
