Izumi Ogino presents Anteprima Fall Winter 2025.26 collection at Milan Fashion Week, unveiling a collaboration with contemporary Japanese artist Izumi Kato. Known for his enigmatic figures that blend human and abstract elements, Kato inspires a collection that transforms clothing into an expressive medium. Ogino embraces this artistic approach, creating pieces that invite interpretation and self-expression.
The collection builds on the concept of “Modern Primitive,” combining authentic craftsmanship with contemporary design. Ogino plays with contrasts, modern yet raw, structured yet fluid, simple yet intricate, resulting in garments that evolve with the wearer. Each piece defies seasonal constraints, focusing instead on textures and silhouettes that feel relevant beyond time.

Textiles define the collection’s depth, with cashmere, velvet, mohair, and winter mesh adding dimension. Innovative materials like fleece, nylon, and bouclé introduce unexpected textures, creating a tactile experience that encourages interaction. The signature two-dimensional motifs from Kato’s work transition into three-dimensional knitwear, while polka dots and stamping techniques bring an element of nostalgia and defiance.
Building on the hues of Anteprima’s Spring Summer 2025 collection, the FW25.26 color story shifts toward deeper, more atmospheric tones. Natural greens and browns set the foundation, intertwining with sand, khaki, and winter yellow for an organic warmth. Cherry lacquer and deep purple introduce a sense of mystery, while beige and light pink offer softness and sentimentality.

Silhouettes emphasize fluidity and ease, favoring oversized and unisex shapes that invite movement. The alpaca-blend sweater, featuring mandarin ducks and alien-like faces from Kato’s art, exemplifies the concept of wearable art. A ribbed velvet-effect knit coat, oversized and gender-neutral, continues this theme. The double wool blazer, layered with a quilted nylon jacket and adorned with embroidered motifs, brings craftsmanship and conceptual design into a single statement.
Ogino envisions Anteprima as a platform for individuality, allowing wearers to interpret garments in their own way. Just as Kato leaves his art open to interpretation, Ogino designs each piece to evolve with the person wearing it. This collection turns fashion into an ever-changing dialogue between design, art, and personal expression.
