PUMA Hoops and LaMelo Ball introduce a new direction for the MB.04 line with the debut of its first low-top edition. The MB.04 Lo, releasing on April 18, arrives in a vivid “Alien Skin” colorway – an eye-catching blue and red design referencing Ball’s distinctive on-court presence and sci-fi-inspired branding.
This latest model shifts the silhouette of LaMelo’s signature shoe by lowering the collar and reworking both the tongue and heel. The synthetic upper is covered in an embossed alien-like texture, giving the sneaker a distinct visual identity within the MB series. The heel is wrapped in LaMelo’s recognizable wing logo, further enhancing the shoe’s narrative rooted in his “Not From Here” concept.

Beneath the design updates, the shoe delivers key performance elements. The engineered mesh upper is constructed with multiple zones to enhance breathability and reinforce high-wear areas. Inside, PUMA’s NITROFOAM™ midsole returns to provide responsive energy return, tuned for quick transitions and explosive movements during games. An external heel cap adds extra containment for lateral movements.

The outsole carries graphic elements consistent with Ball’s previous shoes – most notably a spaceship motif and the inclusion of his signature phrases “RARE” and “NOT FROM HERE.” Together, these details continue the player’s established visual language across footwear releases, combining design motifs with game-ready specs.

The MB.04 Lo Alien Skin will be offered in both Men’s ($115) and Junior’s ($105) sizes. It will be sold via PUMA.com, the brand’s mobile app, PUMA’s NYC Flagship locations, and Foot Locker stores. This marks a notable expansion of the MB.04 series into low-cut territory while staying true to the aesthetic that defines LaMelo’s sneaker line.
