Jeremy Scott returns to his long-running collaboration with adidas Originals by reworking the Samba, a classic silhouette rooted in sport and subculture. Unlike his past projects packed with loud prints and flashy hardware, this version of the Samba opts for a quieter shift in tone. Set to release on June 1, just ahead of Pride Month, the sneaker balances minimal changes with strong presence.

The sneaker arrives in a “Core Black” colorway, combining smooth leather across the upper with adidas’ signature white three-stripe branding. While it may appear familiar at first glance, Scott adds a distinctive detail: a silver zipper running through the tongue. Once unzipped, it reveals a shared adidas and Jeremy Scott logo, tucked away, but intentionally placed for those who look closer.
Scott uses full-grain black leather throughout the upper, giving the shoe a clean surface that plays with shadow and texture rather than color. White stripes on the sidewalls offer contrast, while the tongue, laces, and heel stay locked in monochrome. The addition of a zipper breaks the flatness with a small hit of shine, hinting at Scott’s playful approach without overwhelming the shoe’s frame.
Underfoot, the sneaker features a dark gum outsole that completes the design with a slightly vintage tone. Branding remains minimal beyond the zipper tag, appearing only on the insole. Scott avoids over-decoration and lets the shape and build of the Samba carry the design.
While the sneaker leans into restraint, the accompanying apparel heads in the opposite direction.
