Netflix has officially begun production on the second season of The Gentlemen, Guy Ritchie’s fast-paced crime series that broke out as one of the platform’s major hits. The eight-part continuation returns with familiar faces and introduces a long list of new ones, while the plot pushes its characters deeper into the chaos of a growing criminal empire.

Theo James, Kaya Scodelario, and Daniel Ings return to their lead roles, picking up one year after Eddie and Susie joined Bobby’s drug empire overseas. Now at a critical point in their partnership, they face difficult choices as Bobby’s leadership grows increasingly erratic. The threat of collapse forces them to consider whether loyalty still serves them, or whether survival demands something else entirely.

The returning cast also includes Ray Winstone, Joely Richardson, Vinnie Jones, Jasmine Blackborow, Michael Vu, Harry Goodwins, Ruby Sear, Pearce Quigley, and Giancarlo Esposito. These characters, each tied to different layers of the enterprise, help set the stage for a season shaped by shifting allegiances and mounting pressure.
Season 2 introduces a slate of new characters played by Hugh Bonneville, Benjamin Clementine, Benedetta Porcaroli, Michele Morrone, Sergio Castellitto, Amra Mallassi, Tyler Conti, and Maya Jama. These additions promise a broader perspective and an expanded field of tension, as the criminal operation stretches beyond its original setting.
In his comments, Guy Ritchie described this season as a deliberate expansion. The story now travels from the English countryside to the Italian lakes, drawing Eddie and Susie into new conflicts that test their influence and control. Ritchie emphasized the increased complexity of the power dynamics, describing the situation as one where the core duo faces pressure from all sides, including a series of unpredictable new arrivals.

This creative shift signals a bigger narrative ambition. While the first season largely operated within the structure of a traditional rise-to-power arc, Season 2 moves into riskier territory. As ambition outpaces stability, the potential for disaster rises. Characters must not only defend their position but also decode the intentions of those circling around them, many of whom bring their own agendas.
Co-produced by Netflix, Moonage Pictures (a part of ITV Studios), and Miramax TV, The Gentlemen Season 2 consists of eight 60-minute episodes. The structure allows Ritchie and his collaborators to dive into long-form storytelling without losing the quick, stylish energy that defines the series. With the new cast now confirmed and filming underway in the UK, production aims to deliver a season that raises the stakes without losing the sharp edges that made the first chapter a success.
