Jean Paul Gaultier has officially entered the Crocs era. Teased on Instagram, the upcoming collaboration between the storied French fashion house and the famously polarizing footwear brand blends punk rebellion with comfort-first design. Slated for release in August 2025, the collection transforms Crocs’ most recognizable silhouettes, the Classic Clog and the Bae Clog, through a distinctly Gaultier lens.

This isn’t Crocs’ first foray into fashion’s upper ranks. With previous collaborations including Balenciaga and Simone Rocha, the brand has become an unlikely canvas for high fashion experimentation. But the partnership with Jean Paul Gaultier stands out for its ability to reference and rework decades of subversive design language. Safety pins, corset lacing, and nods to the iconic cone bra all make an appearance, repurposed here as tactile design elements on a foam clog.

The collection includes three styles, each reimagining Gaultier’s signature codes. One model features a faux leather finish punctuated by oversized safety pins, turning the clog into a piece of wearable punk hardware. Another is printed with lace-like graphics, referencing the designer’s long-standing play with sheer layers and texture. The third hints at the cone bra era, incorporating circular stitching and corset-style laces that wrap the upper in a subtle but unmistakable gesture.

With this drop, Crocs continues to push the limits of its identity, evolving from function-first footwear to a collaborator of choice for fashion’s most experimental names. The Jean Paul Gaultier partnership repositions the clog within a visual history of fashion that prizes disruption, irreverence, and transformation.

The Jean Paul Gaultier x Crocs collection is expected later this month. Pricing and distribution details are yet to be confirmed, but demand is already building. Whether you wear them or archive them, one thing is clear, these Crocs are anything but ordinary.
