PUMA advances its most cushioned running franchise with the introduction of the MagMax NITRO 2, arriving worldwide on 1 December 2025. The brand returns to the supermax-cushion concept it introduced in August 2024, now refined through weight reduction, updated foam engineering, and a stronger focus on everyday versatility.

The new model comes in 15 grams lighter than its predecessor, giving runners a more energized underfoot feel from the first stride. PUMA reshaped the NITROFOAM midsole to increase cushioning and rebound, building on the performance that defined the original MagMax. The shoe continues to deliver a responsive ride that suits both short outings and steady mileage.

PUMA equips the MagMax NITRO 2 with its deepest level of NITROFOAM cushioning to date, designed to create consistent bounce and comfort with every step. A premium mesh upper supports airflow, while a plush collar and knitted tongue secure the foot without adding weight. These updates aim to give runners a shoe that feels ready for frequent use while maintaining the supermax cushioning the franchise is known for.
“ With MagMax NITRO 2, our focus was on enhancing what runners already loved, cushioning and energy, while making the shoe lighter and more responsive. We wanted every step to feel energized so whether someone is out for a quick daily run or covering longer miles, the shoe delivers comfort and performance from start to finish,” said Conor Cashin, Senior Footwear Product Line Manager at PUMA.

The shoe targets neutral runners who want reliable cushioning for everyday activity. The MagMax NITRO 2 fits easily into a varied rotation, giving athletes a dependable option for any distance or pace. This practical approach keeps the franchise aligned with the needs of runners who seek comfort and consistency in training footwear.
PUMA will release the MagMax NITRO 2 globally on PUMA.com, in the brand’s flagship stores, and through select retail partners in North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia, and Australia starting Monday, 1 December 2025.
