The upper uses engineered mesh as the base. Metallic and iridescent overlays transform the structure, giving the shoe a layered appearance that changes under different angles of light. Puma reinforces key zones through these overlays, keeping the frame stable while keeping the overall build light. The colorway appears in Vibrant Silver, Yellow Alert, and Glowing Red, forming a palette that matches the MB.05’s expressive design language.

LaMelo Ball’s signature features guide several external elements. Molded wing straps wrap around the heel to form a recognizable MB shape and support the rear section. The outsole carries a molded skull and the number 1, two details that anchor the shoe within Melo’s visual identity. These components link the MB.05 Metallic to earlier releases in the line and give the colorway a distinct presence within Melo’s expanding catalog.

Nitrofoam sits at the core of the cushioning system. Puma uses nitrogen-infused foam to create a lightweight platform with high responsiveness and strong impact absorption. Players who rely on quick elevation and consistent transitions benefit from this setup due to the way the foam reacts during repeated foot pressures. The material spreads force efficiently and helps the shoe maintain comfort through extended wear.

The MB.05 Metallic pushes the signature line forward with its chromed exterior and Melo DNA elements shaped into every section. The shoe’s combination of engineered mesh, molded structures, and Nitrofoam creates a performance-ready build with a strong visual signature. The December 12 release gives players and collectors a new colorway built around LaMelo’s continued influence on Puma Hoops.
