MMSCENE Magazine unveiled its December 2025 digital cover story starring Italian singer and songwriter Wax, photographed by Marco Fornasiero. LaDécadanse Studio directs the styling through looks from Dsquared2 and KVRT STVFF, while grooming by Luigi Iacono shapes the visual tone of the shoot. D.O.P. Fabio Bottiroli adds a cinematic approach that frames Wax within a controlled, contemporary setting. The feature includes an interview with our Editor-in-Chief Zarko Davinic, offering a direct account of how the musician sees his work and the experiences that inform it.
EXCLUSIVES
In the interview, Wax addresses the way he is often described. He acknowledges the “multi-faceted” label and explains that he prefers being evaluated rather than fully understood, outlining a straightforward approach to how he presents himself. He also reflects on his time in Amici 22, describing it as an environment that taught him the importance of holding onto his ideas with discipline and a clear mind. For him, that process revealed aspects of his character and clarified how he functions as an artist.

Wax discusses the role his songs play in his life. He sees each one as a record of personal moments he wants to preserve, and he associates “7 VITE” with a meaningful experience connected to a difficult event involving a friend. The conversation then moves to “BASTA CHE TORNI A CASA,” which he describes as a project built with a close group of collaborators who supported the video’s development from start to finish. He emphasizes the collective nature of the work and the trust that shaped the final result.
When speaking about studio dynamics, Wax explains that he does not try to balance intimacy and reach while recording. He frees himself from external expectations during the creative process, reserving ideas of balance for daily life instead. His relationship with his followers remains direct. He keeps his private world separate, yet he stays in contact with listeners and checks in on their reactions to his music, aiming to create a space where emotion remains present even without full personal visibility.

Wax outlines the range of music that influences him at different times of day, from M83 and Macklemore during workouts to Amy Winehouse during solitary moments, and Radiohead at home. He also points to clothing as a central part of his identity, describing it as a tool that shapes his mood and helps him shift into different versions of himself before a performance or shoot.
In the interview, he identifies his childhood home as the place he returns to mentally when writing, describing it as a source that holds both needed and unneeded elements. For grounding, he turns to family, boxing, and falling in love. When asked how he would want this cover story to be viewed in ten years, he offers a response tied to curiosity and re-examination, suggesting an interest in how perception changes with time.
