With The New Disorder, DSCENE turns its focus to a culture that performs stability while operating in fragments. Systems promise clarity yet produce repetition. Identity circulates as image before it settles into meaning. This issue approaches disorder as a structure we inhabit daily, one shaped by visibility, construction, and the discipline of self-presentation. The new cover, photographed by Melissa Isabel, captures this condition through a study of posture, surface, and control, featuring model Mariane Calazan.

Mariane stands at the centre of the frame without spectacle. There is no mythology imposed, no narrative excess layered onto her presence. Instead, the image operates through restraint. Her body reads as composed architecture, shaped through styling and gesture rather than dramatic movement. In a moment saturated with noise, the decision to remain precise becomes a statement in itself.
Under the direction of stylist Amandha Gaio, with Daniel Jacinto, Debora Medeiros, and Amanda Garcia assisting, Mariane wears a total look McQueen paired with a hat by Heather Huey, the sharp silhouette reinforcing the issue’s focus on control and constructed presence. Makeup by Virginia Vera and hair by Takayuki Umeda maintain surface precision, while set design by Glauco Suppi and video by Andre Deko frame the image with measured tension.
The cover resists resolution and refuses to romanticize instability. It presents a figure who inhabits uncertainty with composure and intent. In The New Disorder, DSCENE frames the contemporary condition as one of endurance shaped under pressure. Control reads as aesthetic. Surface operates as language. Presence becomes a sustained act of practice.
