RIO returned to New York on February 15 with Fall Winter 2026, titled A Poem & A Protest II, presented at Jean’s. The collection builds on a narrative first introduced in Spring Summer 2026 and pushes further into the brand’s study of duality. This season sharpens the tension between softness and resistance, glamour and grit, and frames clothing as both expression and defense.
FALL WINTER 2026
Signature plaids reappear in expanded proportions and winter-driven palettes. Designers cut pleated minis with precision and pair them with metallic bikini tops and draped separates. High-visibility accents and reflective textiles shift under flash, catching light with each step. The materials amplify motion, turning the runway into a charged surface where defiance and polish coexist in a single look.

Outerwear anchors the collection. Quilted constructions, sculptural puffer shoulders, trapper hats, and structured coats define the silhouette. RIO engineers these pieces for the urban landscape, giving them volume and presence without sacrificing mobility. Backpacks and sport-driven finishes reinforce the collection’s functional drive. Each garment operates as armor, built for confrontation and daily movement alike.
The styling extends that message into the political and cultural sphere. Select looks feature ACLU “ICE OUT” pins, placed with intention and restraint. Traditional stone and obsidian necklaces rooted in Mexican culture layer against sharp tailoring and refined two-piece sets. The contrast creates visual friction while grounding the collection in lineage and lived experience.

Presentation played a central role in communicating the collection’s energy. RIO staged the show as a live runway performance featuring Dominican musical artists Planta Industrial. The setting dissolved the boundary between concert and catwalk. Models shared space with moshers, and the crowd responded in real time. The movement felt collective, raw, and immediate.
With Fall Winter 2026, RIO advances its thesis that identity resists singular definition. A Poem & A Protest II frames fashion as language, protest as posture, and glamour as strategy. The collection asserts that clothing can hold contradiction without compromise. It dresses its community for confrontation, visibility, and celebration in equal measure.
