adidas Originals and Pharrell Williams introduce a new suede edition of the VIRGINIA Vario FLAT EARTHER in Black and Blue. The release continues Pharrell’s VIRGINIA project through a low-profile sneaker that prioritizes lifestyle wear, tactile materials and a close-to-earth feel.

The model first appeared earlier in 2026 and draws from the adidas Yoga Vario, a 2004 shoe that took inspiration from yoga practice and ideas of balance. Pharrell interprets that reference through groundedness, perspective and playful design. The latest edition keeps the original profile while introducing premium suede.
The suede upper gives the VIRGINIA Vario FLAT EARTHER a softer surface and a lived-in character. Its tactile finish follows the clean geometry of the sneaker and gives the Black and Blue colorways a rich visual texture.
A magnetic closure replaces traditional laces and allows quick entry and exit. The system supports the shoe’s simple, low-profile construction and keeps the upper free from conventional lace hardware. Leather Three Stripes run along the sidewalls, connecting the design to adidas Originals through one of its most recognizable visual codes. A rubber outsole completes the shoe, while VIRGINIA branding appears underfoot. Together, the suede upper, magnetic closure, leather stripes and rubber base preserve the FLAT EARTHER’s lifestyle-led identity.
The adidas Yoga Vario first arrived in 2004 and drew from yoga practice and its focus on balance. The VIRGINIA Vario FLAT EARTHER uses that archive model as its foundation and filters it through Pharrell’s design language. Its low profile keeps the foot close to the ground, while the smooth upper and minimal fastening system create a clean outline. The sneaker explores groundedness and balance through shape, material and contact with the surface beneath it.
The suede edition continues the same concept through a softer material. The two colorways present the design in Black and Blue, with both versions retaining the same construction and underfoot branding.
VIRGINIA functions as Pharrell Williams’ creative pseudonym and cultural platform. It connects his creative work directly with his audience through music, community projects, limited-edition merchandise, live events and boundary-pushing design.
