Interior Design Changes

Revamping your home doesn’t have to cost you an arm and a leg. Nor the entire contents of your bank account. It also shouldn’t have you watching on the side-lines to let someone else do the work for you. Only to end up unsatisfied with the result. That’s why we spoke with interior design experts to help you get started on DIY-ing your home’s long-awaited interior design redecorating and remodelling.

INTERIOR DESIGN

And don’t worry. You can still bring hypoallergenic duvet covers and essentials like these into the mix. Our friends at Home Goods mention how it’s alright to keep the basics, by the way, if you are buying anything from them, you can take part in their customer satisfaction survey. So, are you ready for a makeover? Here are easy steps you can follow.

See below the 8 Interior Design Tips For A Va-Va-Voom Home:

Interior Design Changes

1. The Open-Plan Look

Let’s start with the overall feel that you should get when you step into your home. And the keyword is? “Open”. An “open plan” design has to do with tweaking a rooms’ foyer. Few to no makeshift dividers in each room will have the latter appear more spacious than they really are, side by side with a foyer that’s decluttered. Open plan is one of the most popular interior design changes in the past decade, it comes from a different viewpoint on living space. Additional the source of the same is the limited living space, we are all adopting to living in smaller square footage.

2. White Is the New Black

When it comes to interior design, “white” is the paint colour to hail. Don’t get us wrong. You can still choose any colour and design you want for most parts of your walls and furniture. But leave larger spaces for plain white. Basic. No-frills. As classy as ever, yet incredibly modern, too.

3. Accessories

Stay away from over-accessorizing your place. Too many embellishments, though may work at times, are a bit too close to being in disarray, view-wise. What you can do is save the eye-popping designs for a few pieces of key accessories in a room. Colourful couch drapes and cushions, a standout centrepiece on the coffee table, a uniquely designed stand-alone chair, stylish bedding, etc.

4. Dazzle With Pendant Lights

These ethereal lighting fixtures go beyond mere functionality and transform into art pieces, setting the tone and mood of a space. They often come in abstract shapes, dynamic designs, and unique materials that reflect a certain character or theme. Even when not illuminated, they stand out as sculptural entities that can catch the eye and spark conversation.

The beauty of these ceiling-centerpieces is that they’re versatile enough to blend into various interior styles, whether it’s a modern minimalist loft or a traditional cozy living room. The right fixture can elevate an otherwise mundane area into something magical and engaging.

However, it’s not only about aesthetics. The right lighting centerpiece can also create the illusion of space, manipulating shadows and highlights to make a room feel larger or more intimate as needed. It’s about crafting an experience, using light and form to invoke emotions, and making an architectural statement.

Ceiling-centerpiece lighting transcends ordinary design, transforming the spaces they inhabit. They are not just lighting fixtures but elements that define a room, even when they’re switched off. By choosing such a piece, one opens the door to a realm of design that extends beyond mere function and into the world of aesthetic fascination and wonder. Well selected and placed pendant lights are not only renter friendly, they might be some of the most simple and effective interior design changes you may make.

5. Interior Design Changes & Wallpapers

Wallpaper has taken a step back in must-haves for home trimmings these past years. But they’re making a comeback! Designers say that wallpaper with eccentric designs and color combinations are art pieces in themselves. Wallpapers are also renter friendly, does making these interior design changes affordable with excellent result in reshaping your home.

Just be sure not to overdo the wallpaper-pasting. You won’t need to coat each wall with the same wallpaper design. Mix it up a tad. One wall with N-wallpaper, another that’s blank and painted in monochrome, and Z-wallpaper on the adjacent side, so on and so forth.

6. Hardwood Flooring, Anyone?

If you have the extra cash to spare, let your living room be refurbished to house hardwood flooring. Better yet, contact your flooring contractor/supplier and inquire about engineered hardwood. These are multi-layered slabs of timber that have naturally distinct “stripes” (veins) and hues. The cherry on top is that “wood” itself is adaptable to most room décor themes.

7. A Few Big Greens

The simple routine of tending to your plants can become a moment of mindfulness, an opportunity to connect with the Earth and escape the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Moreover, potted plants are not just aesthetically pleasing; they are functional as well. They purify the air by absorbing toxins and releasing oxygen, creating a healthier living environment. For those who work or study at home, the presence of greenery can increase productivity and creativity. Various studies have shown a connection between exposure to plants and improved concentration and memory. Potted plants offer flexibility in design, too. From succulents that require minimal care to flowering plants that add a splash of colour, there is an endless variety to suit your taste and lifestyle. You can place them on windowsills, shelves, or even hang them to create a unique spatial effect.

While adding plants to your interior design may seem like a small thing, it is a step towards a more sustainable and nature-connected living. By fostering growth inside your home, you’re embracing a part of the natural world that can inspire tranquillity and joy. Interior design changes by adding plants are some of the most rewarding, on a daily basis the same are to shift the energy of your living space.

Incorporating one or two potted plants into your space is not merely an aesthetic choice. It’s a multifaceted decision that beautifies your surroundings, enhances your mental well-being, connects you with nature, and brings a sense of life and vitality to your home. Whether a novice gardener or a seasoned plant enthusiast, there’s always room for a little more green in your life.

8. Colors Galore and Interior Design Changes

Much like what we’ve stated on number 3, mixing and matching colors can go both ways— yay or nay. Since the first is what we’re aiming at, spend time sifting through colors that go well together. Ask your wallpaper or paint supplier for palm-sized samples or color swatches.

More often than not, being creative with a diverse set of pigments is what will elevate your interior decor to “effortlessly magnificent”.
