Luxury house CHANEL presented their Fall Winter 2022.23 Collection, that is dedicated to the brand’s eternal code – Tweed, and it’s infinite possibilities, at the Grand Palais Éphémère, on March 8th, during the recently finished Paris Fashion Week. The collection celebrates the way Gabrielle Coco Chanel made the tweed modern and feminine. Designer Virginie Viard was also inspired by the 1960s England, and with very colourful record covers. The collection features jackets in psychedelic colours, as well as jackets that are subtly masculine or slightly oversized, trousers in black panne velvet, tight skirts worn with long socks and pointed pumps with a mini stiletto heel in patent leather.

FALL WINTER 2022.23 COLLECTIONS

Devoting the entire collection to tweed is a tribute. We followed the footsteps of Gabrielle Chanel along the River Tweed, to imagine tweeds in the colours of this landscape. Like that of a long pink coat mottled with blue and purple, or a burgundy suit with a delicate gold shimmer. This is what Gabrielle Chanel would do on her walks through the Scottish countryside: she would gather ferns and bouquets of flowers to inspire the local artisans for the tones she wanted. – Virginie Viard

I understand why a lot of people are complaining about this collection but also i love seeing the old chanel back. I think its about buying pieces that will last you a lifetime and pieces you can pass on to next generations. This is so stunning i have no words. People need to know chanel is not a piece you would buy at zara and throw away the next season. It is not logical to think we can consume real luxury fashion the same way we consume zara and h&m. Maybe instagram is making us belive people have 100s of chanels at home, but they do not. Chanel is something you buy to hold on to for years….. decades.
